image“213. Mankind was [of] one religion [before their deviation]; then Allah sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners and sent down with them the Scripture in truth to judge between the people concerning that in which they differed. And none differed over the Scripture except those who were given it – after the clear proofs came to them – out of jealous animosity among themselves. And Allah guided those who believed to the truth concerning that over which they had differed, by His permission. And Allah guides whom He wills to a straight path.”

I am a muslimah who grew up in the Western world surrounded by all things material and secular. I studied Llb Law at university and I tried pursuing a legal career.

I then got married to a man of Firdaus (inshallah) and suddenly my drive to become closer to Allah strengthened. It was not that I didn’t have Iman before, but I started understanding a lot more about the deen with my husband’s guidance. I am growing day by day and I am improving my knowledge of the deen Alhamdulillah. I am going to take you on my journey by sharing the things I learn so that we can develop together.

One of the fundamental aspect that influenced my life is learning that democracy which encompasses the western legal system is incompatible with shariah. Shariah is a way of life for Muslims and it dictates every aspect of our life’s. The teachings of Islam is the only source of truth for me. I, therefore, lost interest in the English legal system in the sense of growing a career out of it. Knowlege is a very useful tool which is promoted within Shariah so I am from time to time updating myself with the changes made to the legislature, the new laws introduced and the effects of certain rulings on a division of people.

I might also be sharing some legal and political developments in the UK.

I am now in pursuit of acquiring the knowledge of Quran and Sunnah in the hope of increasing my Iman and Ibadat. I have always been interested in Shariah but I never dedicated myself to it. My past research only went as far as satisfying the curiosity I had for a particular topic at the time. I now want to dedicate myself in whole (inshaAllah) to fully immerse myself in the world of the Akhirah. That means pursuing the knowledge of Islam.

In doing so, I hope to also enlighten my fellow Muslim brothers and sisters and whoever else that is interested.

I have started this as a lesson for myself first and foremost but I pray it is useful to anyone seeking guidance in the Quran and Sunnah.
